Abi R.

Abi’s Strong Spirit

After being sick for multiple days, young Abi Rockhill's parents feared she might have a tick-borne illness. All Abi wanted was to see a doctor and feel better. They took her to Studer Family Children’s Hospital, known for its exceptional pediatric care.

Abi’s mom, Jessica, fondly remembers the compassionate and attentive Emergency Room staff who listened to their concerns with genuine care. “The supervising physician in the emergency department truly listened and supported our suspicion of a tick-borne illness. She recognized the urgency and prescribed the necessary antibiotic immediately, even before test results confirmed the diagnosis. This quick action was critical for Abi's recovery.”

The physician’s prompt intervention was crucial. Abi was diagnosed with Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever, the deadliest tick-borne disease, especially for children. The Rockhill family is forever grateful for the physician’s swift and decisive response that day.

Jessica shares, “I know that whatever happens, Studer Family Children's Hospital is prepared and capable of providing the best care possible. We're so grateful to have this facility right here in Pensacola.” Abi’s bravery, combined with the hospital’s loving and expert care, made all the difference in her recovery, showing the profound impact of compassionate and timely medical intervention.
