Ascension Sacred Heart Foundation

Ascension Sacred Heart Foundation is a philanthropic advocate in support of Ascension Sacred Heart. In that role, we actively encourage contributions and invite volunteer participation to support the work of Ascension Sacred Heart hospitals to improve health care and social services for the sick and poor of all ages in our region. Please join us in our mission. You can help bring the power of hope, healing, and new beginning to our community – welcoming all through our doors, regardless of their ability to pay.

A century ago, the people of Pensacola called for help for better healthcare. The Daughters of Charity responded to that need by building a hospital that provides medical excellence within an atmosphere of true compassion and inclusiveness. Dedicated to offering welcoming arms to all those who come through our doors, including the poor and most vulnerable. Today, Ascension Sacred Heart has become the catalyst for the future of health care in our region.

Tradition

The Hospital’s tradition began through another tradition: the tradition of philanthropy, of giving to help others. For it was through the vision and generosity of one man, who contributed $500, and his 19 friends, whom he solicited for matching gifts of $500, that gave our community the ultimate gift – Ascension Sacred Heart.

Ascension Sacred Heart Foundation, certainly, is much younger but we share the same traditions, mission and values. In 1984, Ascension Sacred Heart Foundation was formed as a not-for-profit, philanthropic organization committed to enhancing the current and future healthcare needs of the Gulf Coast by supporting Ascension Sacred Heart’s programs, capital building and equipment needs.
