Caring for the Cowan Girls in the NICU

When Taylor Cowan faced unexpected preterm labor six weeks early, she and her husband Brett turned to Sacred Heart’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) for expert care. They found solace in the hospital’s dedicated staff, knowing their family was in capable hands.

During their hospital stay, one nurse, Amber K, stood out to the Cowans. Taylor recalls, “Amber K made us feel so at ease. After days of labor with different nurses, her return felt like a blessing, guiding Kennedy into the world.”

Four years later, the Cowans returned to the NICU following the birth of their second daughter. Once again, they experienced the hospital’s exceptional care. With Kennedy just four years old, the NICU became a familiar place where she found comfort alongside her baby sister.

Reflecting on their journey, Taylor shares, “The support and care from the NICU staff touched our hearts deeply. They became like family during those challenging times.”

Sacred Heart and its compassionate caregivers have left an indelible mark on the Cowan family’s journey, offering both medical expertise and heartfelt support when they needed it most.
