Sage's Small Steps to Healing

Sage, a courageous 6-year-old, ended up at Studer Family Children's Hospital after enduring weeks of fevers and illness. After rounds of testing she was diagnosed with Kawasaki disease and would need to stay a few days in the hospital for treatment. The idea of being hospitalized was unsettling for her as a 5 year old little girl. However, the compassionate staff and Sherlock, the hospital's beloved service dog, quickly became beacons of comfort in her journey.

Their care extended far beyond medical treatment. Sage’s mom shared, “We have been deeply moved by the continuous support we've received even after Sage was discharged. From special events to reconnecting with staff and other families, we've felt embraced by the Studer Family Children's Hospital community.”

In moments of uncertainty, their kindness has left an indelible mark on Sage and her family, reminding them that they are not alone on their path to healing.
