When Emily Ley’s 9-year-old son Tyler started experiencing persistent eye irritation and swelling, she turned to Studer Family Children’s Hospital for help. Emily fondly remembers Scooter, a medical staff member, who always greeted Tyler by name and reassured him during each visit. “Scooter was personable, friendly, and always remembered Tyler’s name. He always reassured Tyler he was doing a great job and that he was in excellent hands.”

Thanks to Dr. Mickler and his team, Tyler’s VKC is now under control and unlikely to reoccur. The attentiveness and compassion they provided made a significant difference, ensuring Tyler felt safe and cared for throughout his treatment.
